EVICTIONS

We hesitated to create this page on our website since we have only had conduct about 10 evictions over the past 16 years.  Thinking we have done so few evictions over the years since we screen prospective tenants carefully or find solutions to problems short of evicting tenants. But, given the present economic climate we are living in, we have been inundated with phone calls from homeowners who have chosen to manage their own properties and are facing difficulties with tenants.  Difficulties such as collecting rent, resolving bounced checks, or how to start the eviction process, etc.  Due to these phone calls, We decided to create this page that links to Hopkins-Tschetter-Sulzer Law firm in Aurora, Colorado that is reportedly one of the largest "eviction" law firms in the area.  Please call them (303-766-8004) or perhaps visit their website at
www.HTSPC.com for more information on the Colorado Eviction Process.

Evictions typically take anywhere from 3 to 6 weeks.  Evicting a problem tenant is not exactly as painful as you might have seen portrayed in the Hollywood movie "Pacifc Heights."  But the process is painful and costly with the homeowner generally bearing the brunt of the cost that includes court and legal fees, sheriff fees, and mover fees.  We have seen costs range from $500.00 to $3,000.00 depending upon the amount of furniture or tenant property that needs to be removed from the home.
I hope you find this information helpful. Need other help?  Please give us a call.
